.....Treasure Hunt

When I was a kid, the greatest entertainment wasn't TV....what's TV? or Video Games....what's that? or Movies at the Theater.....that's a NoNo! My entertainment was going thru drawers. In my mind, drawers held a wealth of treasures.

So, I guess you could say, I was always in search of a hidden treasure. The kind that made my eyes wide with wonder and excitement!

One of my most memorable treasure hunts was filled with danger and careful skill.

"There it is!", I thought! I spotted the location and though I knew it wouldn't be easy, I could do it.... because I was an experienced treasure hunter! I snuck around the corner and turned back to see if I was being followed....."all clear!" So, I tip-toed across the room and right in front of me was Aunt Gladys's very tall, 4 drawer chest of drawers. Not to worry! I'm not afraid, I am very skilled and I have a plan! It was going to be a "step by step" process. First, I'll pull out the bottom drawer, then I'll take one step up......."PLAN ABORT!!! PLAN ABORT!!"

Next thing I knew, I was attacked by Pirates and I was fighting for my life! The treasure chest of drawers was caving in on me and I was holding it up with all my might! I screamed for reinforcement and the emergency team came to my rescue! Whew!!! that was close!

Needless to say....I didn't find the treasure I was hoping to find. But, I did learn a lesson in all of this. I'm not a mountain climber. I'll stick to treasures I can reach with my feet planted firmly on the ground! Thus, this was the beginning of my fear of heights!

Matthew 6:21. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
