....In A Mirror Darkly

Sometimes the things we think are the best things ever...turn out to be the worst! We think we know all about it .....to find we only know the surface. Like the car you begged for that was so perfect, until your first $1,500 repair.

Or the Hotel you booked online. You thought it was going to be the perfect getaway....only to drive up to a heated protest of over 100 angry people, yelling and screaming at the cars driving by! Well, I ate that $150. Checked in at a good 'ol Holliday Inn Express! Things are not always what they seem.

On a more personal note. I just had dinner with a few friends and decided to stop at the grocery store on the way home. It was already late, but I was happy to see it was still open. I grabbed my makeup bag to freshen up before going in. I adjusted my little mirror to apply my lip liner and lipstick......because that's what we did back then. I bought what groceries I needed and headed home. I was exhausted, so I put everything on the kitchen counter and went to my bathroom closet to change into my jammies.

When I glanced at the mirror, I was met with a shocking surprise. My lips were painted black! After breaking into a panic state of mind, I started laughing.... uncontrollably!!! Which soon turned into an ugly cry face! You see.....when I touched up my makeup at the grocery store, I picked up the wrong liner...it was my black eyeliner instead of my pink lip liner! And because I was looking through a mirror in the dark, I didn't know that my lips were black!

We won't know the full picture of every detail in our lives until we get to heaven. For now, we just need to trust that God will open our eyes to see the truth before we make decisions in life.... and before we make a fool of ourselves! ...oh boy!

"Now we see in a mirror dimly; but then face to face. Now I know in part; but then I shall know just as I have been known fully by God. " 1 Corinthians 13:12
