Boxes

Give my cats a box of any shape or size and they will be in it or on top of it! They'll hide in it and jump out of it, at any given moment, and then walk away like nothing ever happened. They'll slap at you as you walk by, without any notice. They'll curl up in it and nap all day, or they'll just stand on it and stare at you.
Boxes are interesting. They come with gifts or stuffed with files. They show up at your door or under the Christmas tree. You place an order and a box shows up at your door.
Do you ever think about crawling in a box and calling it your own space? A space small enough that no one will ever bother you? Or a space where no one can pull up a chair and visit awhile. ....where people just want to talk talk talk, about things you could care less about?
Maybe, someone wants to put you in a box. Your boss wants you where you've always been, not seeing your potential for greater things. Or maybe your future has been planned since you were a child and now you're grown up and want to make your own decisions.
Sometimes, I think we try to put God in a box. We pack Him up and put Him on a shelf, until we need Him....when we have a major crisis in our life. Or......maybe we feel like we just don't need Him at all. Did you know that God loves you and He knows all about you? He knew you when you were in your mother's womb. Oh, Yes! You were a real person then. He created you for a purpose. God wants you to come out of that box and just see how much more He wants for your life. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future". Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
So, when you think about boxes, think of this. Cats have fun in their box. We want to hide in ours to get away from the noise. Bosses use their boxes to keep you where you are. But, God will never put you in a Box! NOR will He ever be put in one. He's always there for you. Talk to Him!
